Spring color inspiration : Jane Iredale makeup collection review (+GIVEAWAY)

jane iredale makeup review, tlv birdie blog

Spring does something magical to me. Mostly how it influences my recent affection to makeup. Well , yes, it is sort of new to me. I was makeup obsessed when I was like, umm 13, and my makeup stash was packed with all sort of things to satisfy girl’s desire to experiment. Then, I’ve naturally downsized my makeup routine to pretty much essentials only. I am still the biggest fan of “no-makeup” look. However, these days I have more curiosity to good makeup, makeup with skincare benefits, little bits and bobs that can help to “frame” the face and to emphasize the natural features effortlessly. That is why I love to talk and to play with makeup recently. And I am so happy that I have this privilege to introduce you all, my dear blog readers, to some of the best, most ethical and as natural as possible makeup brands out there, one post at a time. Today it’s all about Jane Iredale makeup, distributed all over the world, cruelty-free certified and actually good for your skin!

This is my first introduction to Jane Iredale makeup brand, and the timing fell perfectly on the release of their Country Weekend Spring collection, representing the “relaxed beauty” approach. You can already see why I fell for this collection, don’t you?:) Soft colors, down-to-earth vibe and general aesthetics are totally down my casual makeup alley.

This Gorgeous Getaway Eyeshadow Kit is one of the most beautiful, compact and lightweight eyeshadow palettes I own. Basically, with the palette like this I don’t need anything else – 5 tones of very natural-makeup-appropriate silky eyeshadows to bring some sparkle to my eyes for any occasion / time of the day. From light shimmery pearl base color (Fresh Air) through 3 earthy shades of golden peach with soft glow (Silence), matte gray-ish olive (Footprints) and shimmery copper (Tea on the Porch) to the brilliant evening choice – charcoal with golden shimmer (Starry Night). I’d advice to use a primer for these to make them stay longer (especially for the darkest color). Perfect selection of tones for a daily wear. I guess, this would be the only eyeshadow palette to pack with me for a summer getaway.

Another great addition to a “no-makeup” makeup bag is this essential Just Kissed lip and cheek stain in “Forever Peach”*. Don’t get confused by this bright orange color, it’s just a first impression. This balm actually leaves a very adjustive to any skin tone fresh peach shade and spring glow, to cheeks and lips. Besides it’s ability to beautify and add some kissable touch, this balm (stain, if you insist) is very moisturizing and softening. Olive and avocado oils, rose flower wax and beeswax within the formula make this happen.

If you’re hearing about Jane Iredale for the very first time (almost like me), the best way to explore the brand and to get to know it better is the Color Sample Kit* that combines 8 products under one compact roof of the palette plus two brushes for comfortable application. This kit comes in 3 different options – light, medium and medium dark- and contains samples of the following products : foundation, blush, concealer, 3 eye shadow tones and 2 lip color choices. Everything to make one’s makeup experiment session fun and safe (Jane Iredale use the purest ingredients possible and never test on animals!). I’ve got Medium Dark color option to play with – concealer color obviously is not in use for my light skin tone, however most of the shades are, plus my favorite berry tones of the lip gloss!

As you all know, there’s nothing more fun that sharing the beauty fun with you, birdies! That is why I’ve teamed up with Jane Iredale to make one of you happy with your own Jane Iredale Color Sample Kit*, yeeey!
