Well Scent : holistic apothecary tips to Watch Your Mouth

Since I’ve started talking about green beauty, I’ve covered different aspects on TLV Birdie Blog so far – from natural hair care to less-toxic nail polishes solutions, from botanical perfumes to vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics. I’ve introduced you to many artisan beauty brands, holistic small-batch apothecaries and online green beauty shopping destinations within my Green Beauty Blog Series. Never the less, there’re so many subjects yet to talk about and new truly inspiring brands to meet. And let’s make it clear – switch to natural / vegan / clean skin care and a change in beauty pattern is not easy. Luckily, we’re surrounded by very supportive community of like-minded individuals, brands and companies who make this step to a clean and sustainable living much easier.

Today, I’m willing to raise some awareness to natural dental care alternatives and I couldn’t find a better partner to do so but Well Scent. Well Scent is a holistic apothecary that formulates dental health products, gorgeous essential oil blends for immune support, detoxification, emotional and wellness balance, and a line of body and skin care products. Carrying high quality and ethical standards along with a desire to create a better and greener world, all the Well Scent products are vegan, parabens, chemicals and cruelty free, and 100% derived from Mother Earth treasures. So let’s focus on natural dental care alternatives for a moment. If you’re ready to make a step towards healthier teeth and gums, Well Scent is the way to go. To start with, try to get rid of your regular toothpaste and try these : Watch Your Mouth toothpaste replacement, Shine dental powder and Sparkle natural whitener.

Watch Your Mouth is a dental formula created from organic, wildcrafted and therapeutic essential oils that acts as an extreme clean toothpaste replacement & mouthwash. Easy to use – just 2 drops on a dry toothbrush instead of toothpaste. Targeting inflammation, infection and bad breath, Watch Your Mouth provides effective support and significantly reduce bacteria. I am loving it’s very down-to-earth herbal scent and light feel. Definitely going to continue using these drops with a hope it will become my absolute habit. There’s a special edition for little teeth as well – Watch Your Mouth for Kids (mommies, take a look at it!). Besides, you can use these drops for mouthwash purposes (1-3 drops into salt water) or to refresh your breath (1-3 drops on tongue throughout the day), plus in many other beneficial ways that you can find on product’s page.

Among ingredients: Cinnamon, Peppermint, Supercritical sea buckthorn berry oil, Thyme, Clove Flower Oil, Mastic, Neem and 100% USDA Certified Organic Jojoba Seed Oil.

Shine dental powder is used in combination with Watch Your Mouth and acts as a teeth brightener and polisher. But, not only! It’s formula inhibits the bacteria that cause heart disease, bad breath, gingivitis and inflammation. Acting gently yet powerful, the ingredients involved in Shine powder provide notable oral & dental support. The powder has a very light peppermint scent and you’d need just a tiny dab of it to be applied on your dry toothbrush (after adding Watch Your Mouth) to perform your new, healthy and clean am/pm teeth routine.

Among ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, sea salt, MSM, Peppermint Oil, Zinc Oxide, L-ascorbic acid, bentonite, xylitol.

Another Well Scent product to make your dental care more effective without any compromises is Sparkle, natural dental whitener. Among Sparkle’s benefits : antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antiseptic properties. Utilizing Earth’s natural powerful elements, Sparkle challenges the most common (full of synthetics and chemicals) teeth whitener treatments. Things can be scary (and messy) at the first sight – basically, Sparkle is a black powder that you’ll think twice before applying it on your teeth. But relax. Black color comes from activated charcoal (that ultimate natural element that absorbs toxins). Baking soda in the formula naturally and gently removes surface stains and neutralize acids (so much loved by bacteria). Recommended usage: use once a day for 7-10 days to gain naturally whiter teeth as a result. Add a tiny pinch of the powder on a wet brush and gently brush for up to two minutes. Created for anyone and everyone, especially thinking about those brutal caffeine consumers like me.

Among ingredients: Activated coconut charcoal, Sodium Bicarbonate, sea salt, Commiphora Myrrha Oil, Plantain, Red Root, Neem, Echinacea Angustifolia Leaf Extract.

Now a few words about Well Scent skin care line that I’ve mentioned in the very beginning of this post. You know my love and dedication to body oils and serums, so I couldn’t resist but giving the Luminous Restorative Serum an entry ticket into my green beauty routine. It’s gently melting on the skin and fast absorbing formula won my loyalty very quickly. However, there’s something unique about this body serum that makes the whole difference. The ability to restore not only my body (serum’s highly nutrient components do great job!), but also my mind, spirit and soul. It’s comforting blend of essential oils include Frankinsence, Neroli and Helichrysum Oils that help to achieve clear mind, released tension and strong spirit. Warm floral scent with a bit bitter, wooden note to bring you back to Earth. Just love it!

Among ingredients: Rose otto, Frankincense, Neroli, Cistus, Carrot seed, Helichrysum, Lavender, Tamanu, Cocoa creme, Shea butter, Argan oil, Rose hip seed oil, Vitamin E, Jojoba.

  • Thanks for the comment, Tegan! I am so sure you’ll love any of Well Scent products! Whenever you’re ready for a green skincare switch – these would be a great start for dental care!

  • Hey Yana, thanks for your super lovely comment! I appreciate it a lot 🙂 I’ve been into photography for many, many years. That’s what I do.

  • It was my first experience with holistic dental care alternatives, and I am so in love with the process and result right now! Going to expand this into trying more on Well Scent essential oil blends, they sound just amazing as dental products! Plus, Luminous is something special that is able to raise my mood on a very gloomy day…and that’s not easy:)!

  • Wow, I’ve never tried any kind of holistic dental care before. Aside from the consistency, how different is it from conventional toothpastes? Taste, feeling… etc. Love reading your blog and the simplicity of your format! Trying to think up a theme as I’ve just started mine. 🙂

  • This seems very interesting…. I would love to try this.

Is there a technique involved at all with Well Scent? I know it says to wet your brush with either Watch your Mouth or Just for Grins and then “dab” Shine onto the brush. Will it become a “paste” as you brush? Is it pretty fine that it doesn’t get stuck in your teeth? Do you (personally) floss after or before? Do you rinse with water when you’re done or do you use Watch Your Mouth or Just for Grins again?

I’d love to know you’re routine, if you don’t mind sharing?

  • Ah crap — rapid typing fail….. that was meant to be, “I’d love to know *your* routine, if you don’t mind sharing.”
