Truth to be told, I am not big on eye makeup. Smoky, cat eye or anything that involves multiple layers is not normally my thing. However I do enjoy an extra touch to my minimalistic makeup look and some definition to my eyes (especially now when my new glasses came into play). That is why I was excited to continue my Lancome eye makeup experiments (remember we talked about Lancome Lashes not too long ago?).
I am really happy to discover this extremely long-wear eye line defining product. Well, I am not saying this is a pencil – because it’s actually not. Neither it can be put into the eyeliner category. Being somewhere in between – soft and smoothly gliding – Liqui-Pencil became my go-to eye makeup tool within a few quick tries. The color range is really beautiful and pigment is so bright! Among my favorite shades (as always, the ones that are on the neutral side): Brûlée (chocolate brown), Embrase (grey/bronze), Lamé (metallic champagne), Pluie (matte grey) and Noir Intense (the blackest of all blacks).
Everything about this compact all-in-one palette is so classic and beautiful : sleek packaging, great mirror, 5 shades to customize a complete look and two applicators (for eyeshadow and eyeliner). I especially love the fact that it comes with a step-by-step guide on how to create a gorgeous day / night eye makeup that makes life of a makeup amateur (*ahem*) so easy. It includes 4 matte neural shades – all-over base, lid, crease and contour, and a rose gold shade for highlighting. Just perfect!
Even though I don’t wear eyeliner on a daily basis, I love a good opportunity to add some bold accent to my eyes. Special events, meetings or an extra-playful mood, mostly. Lancome Artliner comes in all the playful shades possible in addition to the classic ones, that I prefer to stick to. Among it’s signature features : foam tip applicator and very, very rich pigment. I like how the shades Chocolat, Jade, Cuir (pictured above) and Black look.
