Winter holidays always have been the most fun and memorable period since childhood. We haven’t celebrate Christmas itself, but for me the New Year’s eve has always been the number one holiday after the Birthday (selfish, I know). My New Year’s eve memories back from the childhood look very classy : mandarin smell, champaign, tall christmas tree decorated with vintage soviet toys, white snowflakes outside, fireworks, presents and amazing homemade éclairs by my grandmother. Over the last 3 years that I’ve spent back in Tel Aviv, New Year’s eve (Silvester) wasn’t hard to re-create but the atmosphere never was the same. This year, it’s the first ever New Year’s eve that we are going to spend together with Yossi, and the first time ever as a family. And that is exactly the time to create the new family traditions, at our new place in Los Angeles.
A few days ago I’ve shared with you my Last Minute Christmas (and New Year) greeting cards ideas, today I got something fun and creative for you too! The new tradition we started with my very good friend Lisa – Christmas cookies backing! Who knew that $3 cookie cutters from Ikea would eventually bring me so much joy! The icing decoration may need some proper training (next year, I promise), but the forest shapes and good’ol sugar cookies taste made the job!
