I just thought to share on the blog some simple outfits I’ve incorporated into my simple living the last week. You know I’ve been talking a lot about consistency as a key of blogging (and instagramming) success. And it is pretty much obvious to note that outfit posts and pictures on social media receive a lot more exposure and interest from my followers. I mean, from you. Sometimes I don’t have a mood for showing off my face (we all have these days, aren’t we?), but I learn to overcome it and show some personal presence. I decide to do it simple : there’s no special outfit preparations or complicated scenery behind these pictures, it’s just about me living my life. These pictures always go to my Instagram first, as a naturally elaborated habit. And now I thought to post a few from the last week with some comments of what I did and what I wore here, on the blog.
#1. Adventures of vintage skirt in Hollywood. So sorry you can’t see the paisley print of this silk vintage skirt closer, it’s really magnificent! It is one of my latest vintage finds that fits perfectly into my basic yet bohemian closet. That day we went to the Dilated Peoples concert at Amoeba Hollywood (you know, you do these things for love, Yossi likes them a lot), and Amoeba music store has these amazing graffiti walls I am in love with. My simple outfit that day : basic gray Zara t-shirt / vintage skirt / ZeroUV* sunglasses / Forever21 ankle boots .
#2. Movies night out. It’s still a really hot summer in Los Angeles, and the only two reasons I wear long pants are or chilly evenings walks, or going to the cinema ( they usually turn the AC to the fullest). We went to see the new Ninja Turtles, and I must say it is another sort of pleasure to watch movies in Hollywood. Like you feel it’s all been made here and you’re kind of closer to the creation itself. I am not sure I can describe this feeling well, but I’m slowly getting used to see filming productions here and there around our neighborhood every week. My simple outfit that day : basic black Zara t-shirt / United Colors of Benetton khaki pants / Pull&Bear crochet cardigan / Anthropology golden boots / Forever21 golden feathers necklace.
3. They should call it pLeasant top. This peasant top is definitely my best buy of the summer. It has crochet detail, light ruffles and open shoulders. I already wore it countless times with almost every pair of denim cut-offs, as it’s a real pleasure to feel the breeze on my skin, as well as stay chic and alive in the summer heat. My simple outfit that day : Forever21 peasant top / Gap denim shorts / Urban Outfitters macrame sandals with tassels / vintage bag.
4. Summer bike riding. We had a great time yesterday morning on our bike riding date with Yossi. I love spending time like this, just two of us, our bikes and the city. We rode to Silverlake to satisfy my crave for tiramisu from the Casbah Cafe. They have some really good desserts and pastries, their coffee is quite strong (which is good) and to cool down I would suggest you to go for the unsweetened iced chai latte (my favorite). My simple outfit that day : Mango top / Forever21 floral shorts with lace trim and sunglasses / Nine West bag (old). More of my bike-related pictures you can see by the #vanillabikestories tag on Instagram.
